Kolkata, March 11 (IANS) City-based realtors PS Group and Infinity Park Ltd. would start work on their Colombo project within next six months, a company official said here Thursday.

‘Now that peace has returned to Sri Lanka, we intend to start work on our Colombo project soon,’ PS Group chairman and managing director Pradip Chopra said.

‘We are developing about 20 million square feet of real estate spread over 16 acres, which would also house an IT park covering 1.6 million square feet of area,’ he said.

Chopra was speaking to reporters after announcing the start of a new management school, Institute of Leadership Entrepreneurship and Development. The school, backed by PS group, would start functioning by the end of July.

Sri Lanka witnessed a bloody civil war for nearly quarter of a century between Tamil Tigers, demanding a separate homeland, and the government forces. The war ended with the killing of Tamil rebels’ chief V. Prabhakaran in May last year.

‘The delay was also caused by difficulties in transferring the title of the original piece of land given to us. But now the government has shifted the project to an alternative site,’ Chopra said.
