Higher parts of Himachal stay in grip of cold wave

Shimla, Jan 26 (IANS) A cold wave continued to grip the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh Tuesday with Keylong, headquater of Lahaul and Spiti district, being the coldest with a minimum temperature of minus 10.1 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Keylong was down by 1.2 degrees from Monday.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of minus 4 degrees Celsius, while it was 2.5 degrees Celsius at Sundernagar in Mandi district, 2.2 degrees at Bhuntar in Kullu district and 6.1 degrees Celsius at Dharamsala in Kangra district, a met office release said.

Shimla recorded a minimum of 5.6 degrees Celsius, a rise from Monday’s 4.7 degrees.

The met office said the dry weather would continue Wednesday.
