CPI-M welcomes Ranganath Mishra Commission report

Kolkata, Jan 31 (IANS) West Bengal’s ruling Left Front major Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPI-M) Sunday welcomed the Ranganath Mishra Commission report recommending 10 percent reservation for Muslims and five percent for other minorities in government jobs.

‘We welcome the report,’ said CPI-M state secretary Biman Bose.

Bose said the recommendations of the report will be discussed by the front partners when they meet here Monday.

‘Our party’s central committee and politburo will also deliberate on the matter.’

Earlier Left Front ally, Forward Bloc state general secretary Ashok Ghosh had sent a letter to Chief Minister Buddahdeb Bhattacharjee saying the state government should take the initiative to implement the recommendations.
